The blade, forged from a leaf spring off a piece of farm equipment, has a very elegant and graceful shape. The crossguard was forged and the pommel turned, from copper. The handle is local Black Walnut. Leather sheath with a custom leather stitch pattern I spent a whole day designing.
The blade was gun blued, copper was shipwrecked and the wood was burned.
With a handle made to fit any hand, from petite to XXL, the 8 inch blade and 4 inch crossguard come in at 10.14 ounces (11.92 with sheath). The balance point is directly at the front edge of the crossguard, making the handling of this masterpiece.. Effortless.

While I designed from start to end to be functional, I would advise against abusing this one, the “museum wax” can only protect the finish against so much.
P.S.
Gun Bluing is just controlled Rust, care must be taken to preserve this piece for the long term, like any collectible gun.
